From the first sight of each other to the kiss that sealed their vows to the last kiss at the end of the reception, this stunning couple had eyes only for each other. We were excited to capture every moment of their day including details that might’ve gone unnoticed, like the lace wrapped bouquet, and the bride’s never-ending cathedral veil, which was the perfect touch for their enchanted forest themed wedding held at the castle-like, Bryn Athen Cathedral in Philadelphia, PA
Part of what made this wedding so special and meaningful for us was Olya’s sheer determination. When she first contacted us, we were unavailable to shoot her wedding. Because we had shot her best friend’s wedding last year, she was determined to have us capture her day with the same unique touches. She called us later and we were able to accommodate her schedule. It seems like fate or destiny – to her and to us.
That’s why we homed in on every moment and every tradition – so nothing would be lost when they looked back on their memories. We even laughed along with the guests when the couple held to the traditional Russian wedding custom of having the groom answer questions – and pay cash for any wrong answers – before being allowed a first look at his bride.
As sentimental and lovely as the wedding was, the reception at the Golden Gates was epic! From the entrance to the cutting of the cake, Olya and Gene enjoyed top class entertainment, beautiful words from family and even a surprise performance from their very own bridal party.
